Why joke?

Why joke about bombs in your 2005 car? Much better off doing it in a pos car (like my own--soon to be retired) so that when they blow it up at least it doesnt ruin you investment.

I wonder how much insurance covers on that?

I've noticed...

I've noticed that if you go on DCist and play around with the blog links that a lot of DC sucks blogs show up. Now I'm not complaining because I still feel thatDC is a sucky city, but I wonder why so many other people feel the same way?? Does DC have any hope of redemption?

garden state

Ahh kudos to Boston Globe and not NYT for seeing Elizabethtown for what it really is: Garden State written by Cameron Crowe, and apparantly not nearly as good. Before I had finished maybe the 2nd paragraph of the review I could see the similarities. haha, sucks to be compared to zach braff cameron, doesnt it?

na-NO

Working in a totally windows dominated office has its pitfalls. For instance, here I am trying to find out the newest information on ipod video (yes, there is ipod with mpeg-4 video--is that like quicktime?, officially & a new imac computer & itunes 6) and there are a bunch of tech people working nearby, but I haven't heard a peep from anybody but myself about ipod w/video.
Did I mention macs can't catch viruses?
Just say no to nano? I think I might still want one, even with this video snazzy ipod.

AND!

The *^%((@*^*@(^& yakees were eliminated!!!

ipod video?

Apple has a press conference/press release tomorrow and they are announcing something more...
Word on the (insider) street is ipod w/video.
Didn't realize that nano replaced mini, guess I'm retro now.

The Great Depression

I haven't updated all weekend. I was pretty depressed about the baseball game, and my roommates wandering around going "Hey I'm sweeping your room Chicago swept the Red Sox." YUCK. And also being waterlogged all weekend really did me no good, my hair wasn't dry until last night, what a bummer. And had to get my car battery changed. That sucked it big time EXCEPT the mechanic guy didn't charge me to switch them because I was from Massachusetts. No really, that's what he said. Good thing I haven't changed my plates yet! :)
But had a really pleasant cup of coffee at Greenberry's in Courthouse, Sunday morning with the paper.
Another concert tonight. Bound to have a much younger crowd than the Stones, but how much younger? Hopefully not too much high school... Also going to be much more of a pain in the ass to get too, Patriot Center, so weird.

More importantly

What was on fire at M & Wisconsin last night?

rain hits dc

What is this ish anyway? Why is it raining on the weekend and not mid-week?
Stop, I take that back! When it rains on the weekend I can choose not to get out of bed and read a book in the dark and have hot chocolate, but during the week I still have to do the going to work thing and then get stuck in traffic with all of these DC morons who are afraid to drive if it's slippery. But raining on the weekend does make it a pain to go out at night, kind of like when it rained on my birthday and no one wanted to go to Adams Morgan. (Well, maybe they all hated me, I would probably hate me if I wasn't me right?)
But either the bottoms of your pants get wet or you wear flops and fall on your butt and kick dirt on the back of your legs, you can't straighten the hair, something icky is bound to happen...
And I've heard so much good stuff about Curse of the Were-Rabbit that I want to go to the movies instead tonight and lay low with my hair dry but curly....
I'm a little finicky on the weather today, sorry sorry...

NYT: And like that most faith-based character of all, Charlie Brown, many of them still seem to believe that, one of these days, their friend in the White House, like a penitent Lucy, really will let them kick that political football named Roe.

Erroneous Lefts

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Making any sort of left turn against traffic in rush hour... I've never complained about the garbage trucks in Georgetown in the morning (for smelling), but now I think that they should not be allowed to hole up in the right lane all morning when Key Bridge traffic goes from 3 lanes to 2 with garbage trucks.
Yeah, great big nyahnyahnyah to W who wants us to stop extraneous driving. Well, maybe if the bus system outside of DC was a little better... (And if people didn't get murdered down the street.)

$100

Would you buy a laptop for $100? It's probably cheaper than a typewriter these days (do they still make typewriters).
MIT is making cheap laptops to send to students in Africa.
Here's the glitch: You have to crank them!
Did you ever have a wind up watch--Mickey Mouse--when you were little? It's kind of like that, but a little more powerful. Oh my, right?

The CL friendster express

My life has little meaning without the burning desire to search craigslist for an apartment anymore... This is serious stuff, when work is boring and I read everything in NYT, Globe, and WP that I wanted. Oh what a world.
And also: I heard that people on friendster can now know who is stalking them? Say what? The whole point of friendster is stalking, not making friends. Time to love facebook a little more.
OK, last one, I started driving to work so that I will have time to go to the gym and hopefully not be as tired from having a long worthless commute, but now I can't pick up the Express on my way in! That means I can't play with Sudoku, or read all the silly news they think is fit to print, or play with sudoku. ::sigh:: At least I can download the entire thing (adds included) in pdf!
